Autumn Term 2011

Come along and see the City of York come alive with Victorian costumed traders, carol singers and the delicious smells of roast chestnuts and hot chocolate laced with brandy. The annual St Nicholas Fayre Christmas market is the ideal place to find unusual gifts from an outstanding array of arts and crafts market stalls and the very best local produce. The sparkling concoction of lights, decorations, trees and stalls create the cheerful atmosphere, just at the right time to get you in the mood for Christmas. This, combined with a wide range of shops, cafes and tourist attractions, make this a must on your calendar.

Tickets cost £9 per person and children must be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited so early booking is recommended.  Please contact the Media Centre for further information and to reserve your place.

Thursday 3 November 1.00pm - 3.00pm:  Strengthening Families

Our Strengthening Families programme is available to all parents to help support families through the teenage years. Running over 7 weeks, the programme aims to strengthen the parent/carer and child relationship and reduce behavioural problems. Through a range of fun games and activities families solve problems together, learn about rules and consequences and explore ways to show love, support and strengthening family communication.

Wednesday 16 November 9.30am - 11.30am:  Earning from Home

This free workshop is offered by Five Lamps. During the session you will learn how to use the internet to make and save money including selling items on Ebay, using Google checkout and making the most from comparison and cashback websites.  Not to be missed !

Tuesday 20 September 5.30pm - 7.00pm:  Holiday Spanish for Beginners

This is an ideal course for anyone wishing to have a relaxed introduction to Spanish. Come along and learn some basic holiday language with our own Miss Bell. This course costs £30 per term and classes are on a weekly basis. Please telephone the Media Centre on 01642 660570 for further information.

Wednesday 21 September 6.30pm - 8.30pm:  Photography Portfolio Building - Creating Fine Art Prints

Thursday 22 September 6.30pm - 8.30pm:  NCFE Level 1 in Photography
