However, no purchase is necessary and all children are welcome to attend Breakfast Club. Students can access a range of activities including games, puzzles, books and magazines. Our music, large screen Wii games and remote controlled cars are very popular with our young people ! There is also a quiet area for students to complete homework etc, with staff available to offer a helping hand.
Occasionally we have additional activities, such as samba drumming, designed to offer students the opportunity to develop new skills and make new friends.
There are lots of benefits for children who attend Breakfast Club:
• Those who would be at school early anyway can spend their time constructively in a supervised environment.
• Children have time to catch up with their friends before school starts.
• Children can start school with warm and nutritious food inside them.
• If they take part in some gentle physical activity before school, children are less stressed when they start their lessons.
• A learning culture is already established before lessons begin.
• It can help those who used to be late for school to arrive on time.
• The activities provided at the club promote team skills, self-confidence and self-esteem – especially if children discover a way of achieving something new.
